Transformations in Education due to Artificial Intelligence
Summary (September 13th 2026)
Prof (Dr.) Jessy Abraham presented a talk entitled “Transformations in Education due to Artificial Intelligence”, as part of WeServe: An Initiative To Serve The Unserved’s ‘WeServe Webinar Series’. The Webinar was attended by over 55 participants, including students, researchers and educators from institutes such as the University of Delhi, Calcutta University, Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Holy Writ High School and Junior College, Cecil Convent School (Ambala Cantt) and DAV Public School, among several others.
Prof. Abraham commenced her session by introducing the audience to the implications of Artificial Intelligence in the education sector and the consequences of such an integration on student learning, curriculums, assessments, teaching-learning sources, STEM education and learning analytics. Behavioural transformations, including teacher behaviour and classroom relationships, in particular were demonstrated practically through sample ‘situations’ that allowed the audience to comprehend impacts on learning outcomes. Prof. Abraham then proceeded to state that teacher education must explicitly prepare future educators in ethics, equitable access and evaluation of AI-generated student work, presenting the HUMAN framework as a valuable closing tool.
Subsequently, the session then discussed global policy frameworks on AI in education, including those drafted by UNESCO (2024), AACTE (2026) and OECD (2026). The primary objectives and core guiding principles of these frameworks, including human accountability, cognitive architecture and inclusivity, were emphasized upon. The webinar concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, followed by the Vote of Thanks.
